What is KWoC?

KWoC - Kharagpur Winter of Code is a 5 week long online program organize by IIT Kharagpur and FOSS United for students who are new to open source software development. The program not only helps students to get involved in open source, but also prepares them for many open source summer programs; Google Summer of Code being one of them.

About me

I am Dhruv Sharma, an Android as well as Web Developer and an Open Source Enthusiast passionate about creating an innovative Android apps, Web applications and contributing towards the software development.

About Program

KWoC introduces beginners to the open source community, how open source community works and how to contribute to the open source. There are numbers of projects in the program with different tech stacks like HTML, CSS , JavaScript, MERN, Flutter, Python and many more. You can contribute to any of the projects as per your expertise.

To participate in the program you need to sign up as mention in the timeline. As this programs prepare you for Google Summer of Code, it also consist of the workflows like it. The program consist of Mid-Evaluation as well as End Evaluation. To successfully complete the program you need to pass both the evaluations before the deadline ends. If you successfully pass both the evaluations you will get rewarded by Certificates and goodies.

Contributions

I want to contribute to the projects on domains involving Flutter, Dart, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Nodejs, Reactjs and Databases. After searching for the projects regarding this tech stack, I contributed to AOSSIE-org | RESONATE mentored by Chandan Gowda and Spendwise mentored by @ankitChowdhury.
